A slight change of venue for me tonight, The Ivory Rooms Billericay, I always enjoy working at this nice venue, because the staff are so nice and friendly, plus they let me use their sound & lighting system, so it's a late arrival at the venue, to plug my PC based Video DJ system into theirs, and away we go.
What a fantastic night, and as their were so many younger people there, it was a chance to play some music that I would not normally play at a wedding, which is always refreshing.
Now I had my longest time without a disco for mnths, 5 days in fact in that time I had chilled out, been round the sales and gone to see Southend United v Chelsea, but this was back at Stock Brook with my mobile disco for a christmas party disco at Stock Brook Country Club, as I'm not working there tomorrow, I thought it best That Murray & Ken DJ in the Rosewood & Banqueting Suites, and I DJ in the Club HOuse, as we always need to take the equipment out. As I had supplied the Disco in the Banqueting suite for most of the party nights in December & January, it was a nice change.
When I arrived the talk fro the staff was all about the Southend v Chelsea game, asking me if I'd enjoyed it.
I set the disco equipment up in plenty of time, plus set all the LED Uplighters around the building, 60 in total and boy is the effect excellent.
This was a wedding disco in the Rosewood Suite at Stock Brook Manor, the bride & groom had quite a specific music list, with quite a bit of music that they wanted, and also quite a few that they did not want me to play, as alway I am more then happy to follow any guidlines that I am given.
They also booked the Chocolate Fountain, so it was all hands to the pump, although I had set my disco earlier in the morning, we had to arrive at the venue at 6.30pm, and wait for the speaches to finish, as soon as that had hsppened we quicky got into set everything up.
The Bride & Groom had also booked a singer guitarist, who was to entertain the guests up 8pm, with me then taking over until 8.45pm, when the vocalist returned to sing the 1st dance, followed by me until Midnight.
It was nice to get back to a wedding after a month dominated with Christmas Party Disco's
well sorry I have not posted much but my life has been gigging and eating with a little bit Xmas shopping as well.
later today I will upload my first post of the year covering my three weddings this weekend
Well it's Thursday Morning, and the Christmas Party Disco's are in Full swing, once again I am mainly at Stock Brook Country Club in Billericay which is situated in deepest darkest Essex.
Friday 28th November, a charity ball for Little Havens, where I worked with a very good Beatles Tribute band called Beatle Mania, and we helped raise oce £17,000 on the night.
Saturday 29th November, Just the one christmas disco that nignht, so a night off for Murray and Ken, and I mpoved my PA into the Rosewood Suite for a disco for about 120 people, a superb night as well with good old disco & soul anthems being the main music that got everyone dancing, as well as a couple of Xmas Anthems and Party Anthems.
Sunday 30th November we had a disco for the Waitrose Christmas Party, as Murray DJ'd their event last year with much success, we though it best that he did this again for them this year.
Tuesday 2nd December This time a Xmas Party Disco in the Rosewood Suite at Stock Brook Country Club, for a three differant parties of people, turned out 95% of the guests were from the Metroplotan Police, so a mad party was in the offering
Tuesday 3rd December Back upstairs in the Banqueting Suite, my spiritual home for the christmas party disco's at Stock Brook Country Club, once again parties for about four differant groups, Murray also had almost 100 people in the Rosewood Suite. What a great night I had, with dancefloor full from the very 1st song to the last, I must say the rooms at Stock Brook Country Club look superb with the LED upligters really setting the scene have a look here at what I mean
