Well Her We Go another Busy Week

after 2 massive weekend with 5 gigs each weekend, and one of those being the excellent Loose Goose Comedy Club which we almost sold out, it is back to a more normal, or perhaps calmer weekend.

Wednesday a conference for one of my regular clients the IOD, who had a full day conference at Stock Brook Manor, and they had asked for a PA system, two lapel wireless microphones, and a large 50" Plasma Screen, all was delivered in plenty of time and left with them working perfectly.

Friday I had an Iranian wedding wedding to DJ at, now I have to admit that I am not at all knowledgeable on Iranian music, but the groom brought me some CD's so that I could mix between western music and Iranian, and do they know how to enjoy themselves. It was also my first gig with my new denon CD players. You will all be pleased to know that everything went to plan, with no problems at all

Saturday I love it when a plan comes together, and I was back in the Banqueting Suite at Stock Brook Manor, and was able to leave my gear set up in precisely the same place as the night before, and this was once again a storming party, with the dancefloor packed the entire evening with a mix of older classics, and some newer tunes as well.

Sunday what a busy day this was, the bride & groom had gone for the full works, and booked The Fairy Light Curtain, The LED Uplighters, and also asked me to act as the Toastmaster as well, so I arrived at the venue at 10am, to make sure that everything was set in time, for me to be present as the groom and his best man arrived. Once again a great night, these new CD players must be ny new Lucky Charms

Sunday 9th November

This was a welcome day off, as Sharon & I went to see one of our favourite comedians at the moment, Frankie Boyle, he of Mock the Week fame, and what a gret night it was. We arrived at the Cliffs Pavillion at 7pm, about an hour before the show was to begin, and the car park was quite empty, so managed to get a space near the door, then when I opened the door, I new why the car park was empty, the wind was so strong, that I struggled to open the door, and even my 18st was almost blown over. The short walk into the theatre was an experiance.

We managed to get our drinks, which sometimes can be difficult there, and sat and waited for the show to begin, and it did, bang on 8pm sharp, with the support act Martin Bigpig, an act I had heard of but never seen, and his near the mark interaction with the audience was I think this was to prepare you for what was about to come from Mr Boyle, This was a very short set about 20 minutes, with an interval.

Then the main show started, and it is true what the support act says watching Frankie Boyle perform stand up, is like drinking 10 pints of Guiness, eventually you are going to see some dark shit! and boy did we, he took us to places you never dreamed existed, but in my opinion that is one of the jobs of comedians, to push the boudaries.

If you get the chance to see this show I can reccomend it, only if you are not easily offended though

They Were aMAZEng

well todays blog is about my Friday,

Well we woke up at the usual time, with a couple of errands that we needed to do, so I looked after the paperwork that needed to be done, printed off the playlist for Murray's gig in the evening and left for an afternoon in Brighton, which has got to be one of my favourite places.

I had to return 4 LED uplighters that I had borrowed from a DJ colleague of mine, we arrived at lunch time, had a nice cup of tea, and a chat were we put the world and DJ industry to rights, then a short drive into Brighton, and a nice walk around the Lanes followed by a meal in the famous soul food restaurant (the one featured on the Gordan Ramsey show).

We then had an hours drive to The Faifield Halls, Croydon for the Main event, we saw the Mighty Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, I had never seen this band, and had always wanted wanted to see them. This was the opening night of their short UK tour and WOW what a night, all the classics were played;

Before I Let Go
Running Away
Back In Stride
Happy Feelings
Southern Girl
Golden Time Of Day
and of Course Joy & Pain

I no this blog is a little off from my normal work related musings, but I wanted to put on record what a superb night it was
