Nina & David’s Real Essex Wedding
A Night to Remember at Saxon Hall, Southend
What an amazing night! This weekend, I had the pleasure of being both DJ and Wedding Host / Master of Ceremonies for Nina and David’s wedding at Saxon Hall in Southend, right here in my hometown.
From the moment guests arrived, you could feel the excitement and warmth in the room. Nina and David are one of those couples who radiate happiness, and their wedding truly reflected their personalities, relaxed, full of laughter, and bursting with energy on the dancefloor.
The First Dance
Their first dance set the tone for the evening, a beautiful moment to Gaz Coombes’ “Don’t Say It’s Over”. You could see how much it meant to them as friends and family gathered around, capturing every second. It was heartfelt, genuine, and the perfect way to open the night.
The Music That Made the Night
As a Wedding DJ in Essex, I work with the couple to always tailor the music to suit theier style, blending their favourite tracks with timeless crowd-pleasers to keep everyone dancing.
Nina and David’s playlist was packed with classics, soul favourites, and high-energy anthems that filled the floor all night long. From Al Green and Aretha Franklin to The Cure, Stevie Wonder, and George Michael, the music flowed perfectly from start to finish.
Once the party really got going, the dancefloor was unstoppable, a mix of disco, pop, funk, 80s, 90s, and modern hits that had everyone singing at the top of their voices.
Here are just a few of the standout tracks from their evening:
Early evening favourites:
Al Green – Let’s Stay Together
Aretha Franklin – I Say A Little Prayer
Stevie Wonder – For Once In My Life
Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell – If I Could Build My Whole World Around You
Dancefloor classics:
The Scissor Sisters – I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’
Barry White – You’re The First, The Last, My Everything
Stevie Wonder – Superstition
Sister Sledge – We Are Family
Earth, Wind & Fire – September
Late-night anthems:
Robin S – Show Me Love
Faithless – Insomnia
Baby D – Let Me Be Your Fantasy
Cher – Believe
Oasis – Don’t Look Back In Anger
It was one of those nights where every song just worked, pure joy, amazing energy, and a full dancefloor until the very last track.
A Celebration to Remember
What made this Essex wedding so special was how personal it felt. Every detail, from the first dance to the final song, told their story. It was a privilege to be part of it, helping shape those moments that everyone will remember long after the last tune faded.
Congratulations again to Nina & David, and thank you for letting me be part of your incredible celebration at Saxon Hall, Southend.
