A Soulful Celebration at The Holiday Inn, Bexley

wedding DJ in KentAlthough I’m based in Essex, every now and then I travel a little further for couples who really want me to be part of their big day and Penny & Neville’s wedding at The Holiday Inn, Bexley was one of those special occasions.

Neville is a well-known soul DJ and promoter, so it was a real honour to be asked to step behind the decks for their wedding. I hadn’t played at this venue for a few years, and it was fantastic to return for such a warm, fun and music-loving crowd.

Kat & Spencer’s Real Kent Wedding

A Tipi Celebration in the Kent Countryside

Wedding DJ in KentIt is always a pleasure to be asked to DJ at a tipi wedding, especially when it takes place at a family home. Kat and Spencer’s wedding was a perfect example of how personal and relaxed this kind of celebration can be. Set in the beautiful Kent countryside, their day was filled with love, laughter, and the kind of music that brings everyone together.

I was recommended by Kat’s brother, who had seen me at another wedding a couple of years earlier, and it was great to reconnect through such a wonderful occasion. Kat and Spencer booked my wedding breakfast and evening party DJ service, so I was with them throughout the day helping to create the perfect flow of music and atmosphere.

The First Dance

The couple’s first dance was a beautiful surprise. “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman was performed live by one of their guests, creating a really emotional and intimate start to the evening.

Mr & Mrs Dixon-King’s Real Wedding at Cave Hotel, Kent

A Fun-Filled Day of Music, Laughter and Indie Anthems

Part two of a busy three-wedding weekend took me to Cave Hotel, Kent a venue I’ve had the pleasure of working at many times before. After a fantastic wedding in Essex the previous day, it was great to head south for another beautiful celebration.

The Ceremony and Daytime Hosting

I was booked as Wedding DJ and Master of Ceremonies for Mr & Mrs Dixon-King, and from start to finish it was a day filled with laughter, love and great energy.

The ceremony music was something really special, the groom’s son played live guitar as guests arrived and throughout the signing of the register. When it was time for the couple’s grand exit, I took over with Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On”, setting the tone for the celebrations ahead.

During the wedding breakfast, we shared plenty of smiles with my Pearls of Wisdom advice cards, which gave guests a chance to share their funniest and most heartfelt tips for the new Mr & Mrs before the speeches began.

The Evening Party

Once the formalities were complete, the atmosphere built perfectly for the evening party.

The couple’s first dance was “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, followed by “Fix You” by Coldplay, when all their guests were invited to join them on the dancefloor.
Mel’s dance with her father to “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder was another beautiful moment before the party truly began.

A Wedding Full of Indie Energy

The Dixon-Kings are huge indie music fans, and that influence ran right through their playlist. The night flowed seamlessly between classic soul and disco, 90s throwbacks and the indie anthems that had everyone singing along.
