Claire & Dan’s Real Suffolk Wedding

A Night to Remember at The Tudor Barn, Belstead

This weekend I had the pleasure of being both DJ and  Wedding Host / Master of Ceremonies for Claire and Dan’s incredible wedding at The Tudor Barn in Belstead, Suffolk.

It was one of those unforgettable days, relaxed, full of laughter, and with a dancefloor that stayed packed from the very first song to the last.

The First Dance

Claire and Dan had rehearsed their first dance to “Slow Show” by The National, a beautiful, heartfelt track that set the tone for their evening perfectly. You could tell how much time and care they’d put into making the moment feel special, and it was a joy to see their friends and family cheering them on.

An Alternative Wedding Soundtrack

As an experienced Wedding DJ in Suffolk, I love when couples bring their own music tastes to the night. Claire and Dan’s playlist mixed timeless classics with an alternative edge, full of indie, emo, and rock influences that gave the evening a unique and vibrant feel.

Early on, we eased into the evening with soulful favourites and singalong classics like:

  • Van Morrison – Into The Mystic

  • Fleetwood Mac – The Chain

  • Toploader – Dancing In The Moonlight

Then came a shift in energy, upbeat disco and pop tracks that had everyone on the dancefloor:

  • Stevie Wonder – Superstition

  • Hall & Oates – You Make My Dreams (Come True)

  • Sophie Ellis-Bextor – Murder On The Dancefloor

  • Beyoncé Ft Jay-Z – Crazy In Love

The Party Comes Alive

Once the night really took off, their love of alternative and emo anthems turned the Tudor Barn into a full-on festival of energy. Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, The Darkness, and Nirvana all featured, alongside big singalong moments from Kings of Leon and The Killers.

There was even a nostalgic mix of 90s and 00s floorfillers that kept guests of all ages dancing:

  • Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Feeling

  • Walk The Moon – Shut Up & Dance

  • DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince – Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Theme

  • Dexys Midnight Runners – Come On Eileen

  • Journey – Don’t Stop Believin’

And, of course, no night would be complete without some all-out party favourites like House of Pain’s Jump Around and Proud Mary by Ike & Tina Turner.

A Suffolk Celebration to Remember

Claire and Dan’s wedding at The Tudor Barn was the perfect mix of heartfelt moments and pure fun, a day that reflected their personalities completely.

It was a real pleasure to be part of their story and to help create a soundtrack that kept the dancefloor alive all night.

Rachael & Richard’s Real Suffolk Wedding

Suffolk Wedding DJA Laid-Back Celebration at Great Bradley Village Hall

On Sunday 28th May, I took a scenic road trip through Cambridgeshire into beautiful Suffolk for Rachael & Richard’s wedding celebration at Great Bradley Village Hall.

As I arrived, guests were outside soaking up the sunshine and enjoying incredible Indian street food, the perfect start to a relaxed, laughter-filled evening.

A Twilight Wedding Full of Character

Rachael & Richard had booked my Twilight Wedding DJ service, perfect for couples who want to skip straight to the evening celebration. Their brief was simple: keep it alternative, upbeat, and fun.

From the very first track to the last, the dancefloor was full, buzzing with energy and personality — just like the couple themselves.

The First Dance

They chose “Something Just Like This” by The Chainsmokers & Coldplay for their first dance, a modern classic that brought everyone together as the sun set over the Suffolk countryside.

The Soundtrack to a Suffolk Wedding Party

Their playlist was one of the most diverse I’ve played all season, a mix of indie, rock, dance, and classic anthems, all chosen to reflect who they are as a couple.

Early Evening Warm-Up

  • Alanis Morissette – Hand in My Pocket

  • Counting Crows – Mr Jones

  • Crowded House – Don’t Dream It’s Over

  • The Cure – Close To Me

  • Blue Swede – Hooked On A Feeling

Party Highlights

  • Fleetwood Mac – The Chain

  • Mark Ronson Ft Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk

  • AC/DC – Thunderstruck

  • Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit

  • Pulp – Common People

  • Fatboy Slim – Weapon Of Choice

  • Cascada – Everytime We Touch

  • Robert Miles – Children

  • Bon Jovi – Livin’ On A Prayer

  • Florence & The Machine – You Got The Love

By the time “Mr Blue Sky” played to end the night, the dancefloor was packed, and everyone was singing along — a perfect reflection of the fun, free-spirited vibe of this Suffolk wedding.
