When I first heard I’d been nominated for The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA), one of the most respected awards in the wedding world, I was genuinely humbled.
A couple whose wedding I’d been part of took the time to nominate me, and soon after, other couples I’d worked with cast their votes too.
To reach the regional final for Wedding DJ of the Year, East of England was already an incredible honour. When you think of all the amazing wedding DJs across Hertfordshire, Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk, being named one of the top seven in the region was something truly special.
The Night at The Granary Barns
The regional finals were held at the stunning Granary Barns near Newmarket, Suffolk, a night dedicated to celebrating the best wedding suppliers from across the East of England.
The room was full of talented professionals who share the same passion I do: helping couples create unforgettable wedding days filled with laughter, emotion, and amazing music.
When the moment came for the Wedding DJ of the Year to be announced, I honestly couldn’t believe it when the host read out my name.
“The winner of Wedding DJ of the Year for the East of England is… Ian Stewart!”
I felt so grateful, proud, and humbled. To be recognised by real couples and an expert judging panel was a huge honour and one I’ll never forget.
What Happens Next
Winning the regional title meant I went on to represent the East of England in the national finals at the prestigious Café de Paris in London, joining nine other incredibly talented DJs from across the UK.
Just to be there was an amazing experience, a real celebration of creativity, professionalism, and the joy that great music brings to weddings.
