Jemma & Tom’s Wedding at The Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe
A Soulful London Celebration on the Southbank
On a beautiful Saturday evening in London, I had the pleasure of being the Wedding DJ for a truly unforgettable wedding at The Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe, one of the capital’s most iconic riverside venues. The setting, with its views of the Thames and St Paul’s Cathedral, created the perfect backdrop for a night filled with timeless soul, Motown and classic RnB.
I was invited to play on behalf of Mighty Fine Entertainment, and from the very first track, the dancefloor told the story – packed, smiling faces, and pure joy all night long.
Unlike most weddings, the couple decided not to have a first dance, choosing instead to let the party unfold naturally. It’s a growing trend I’m seeing more often, and it worked perfectly here. Guests eased straight into the groove with a soundtrack that spanned generations of feel-good classics.
The Music
This London wedding was all about 60s and 70s soul and R&B, from Motown legends to funky floorfillers, it was a celebration of timeless music that never fails to bring people together.
